Explore two very different regions of Costa Rica, Tortuguero Rainforest National Park in the Caribbean and Monteverde Cloudforest Reserve in the Continental Divide
Tortugero is the most important nesting site for the Green Sea Turtle (June –October) Tortugero National Park is has 11 different habitats, which are home to 3 different species of monkeys: spider, howler and white faced. The natural system of canals and lagoons, form habitats for manatees, reptiles, crustaceans and over 30 species of fish. As well as 300 species of birds. Tortugero is only accessible by boat or plane.
Straddling the Continental Divide at 1440 meters (4662 ft), the Santa Elena and Monteverde Cloud Forest area offers one of the most interesting place to visit in Costa Rica. In Monteverde are found more than 100 species of mammals including 5 species of cats, over 400 species of birds including 30 kinds of hummingbirds, tens of thousands of insect species (over 5000 species of moths) and 2,500 species of plants (420 kinds of orchids). The area is acclaimed as one of the most outstanding wildlife refuges in the New World Tropics.

Day 1: Arrival into San Jose…..Meet and greet service, private transfer to the Hotel Parque de Lago for overnight stay.
Day 2: Tortuguero Rainforest…
Early morning departure through the Braulio Carrillo National Park en route to the Caribbean coastal region, with stop along the way for breakfast. At Cano Blanco, board riverboat for a 1½ to 2 hour nature, cruise en route to Tortuguero National Park... two-night stay at the Mawamba Lodge. afternoon, visit to Tortuguero Village and the local museum. Day 3: Canals and waterways of Tortugero
Early morning guided boat tour of Tortuguero National Park, The park is home to toucans, monkeys, turtles, herons, caimans, and iguanas. Afternoon, time to explore the trails and visit the frog and iguana gardens at Mawamba Please note that the entrance fee to Tortuguero National Park is not included (USD$10.00 per person, subject to change without previous notice by the National Park authorities). Day 4: Monteverde / Butterfly Garden Early morning flight back to San Jose then private transfer to Monteverde Cloudforest, arriving late morning. Afternoon visit The Butterfly Garden and Monteverde Cheese Factory. There will be free time to explore the area of Monteverde and Santa Elena Overnight Cloud Forest Lodge (B)
Day 5: Monteverde Reserve
Explore the enchanted Monteverde cloud forest with expert eyes during this guided walk. We will explore different trails in search of birds and mammals and discuss the amazing diversity of plants. Afternoon is free for optional tours (not included) such as The Coffee Tour, Sky Trek Sky Tram, Train Forest Tour. Horseback riding, Original Canopy Tour. Overnight Cloud Forest Lodge (B)
Day 6: Sarchi / San Jose
Morning transfer to San Jose, stopping in en route to visit Sarchi. The small country pueblo of Sarchi, located less than one hour from the capital city of San Jose, is the country's most famous artisan town. Popular with both Costa Ricans and tourists alike There will be time to visit the famous oxcart factory and do some shopping for gifts for the folks back home. Overnight at Hotel Parque de Lago (B)
Day 7: Departure from Costa Rica…….Transfer to the San Jose International Airport. (B)
